Location : The P&P Samui Resort is in the heart of all the action with plenty of entertainment and restaurants. Set right on the beach, far enough away to still get a good nights sleep, the rooms are large, spacious with a good size bathroom and shower cubicle and lots of hot water. Location : The Chalala Samui Resort can be found at the quieter northern end of Chaweng beach just 10 – 15 minutes walk from the nightclub area. The resort is extremely well run, and the grounds are kept very clean with a lovely pool area. The rooms although basic offer a good sized bed, air conditioning, TV, refridgerator, in room safe and free WiFi with the lovely clean bathroom sporting a nice hot shower. The resort also has a lovely little restaurant on the beach serving good quality food and affordable prices. Good location and best value for money. Location : The O.P. Bungalow is a beachfront property set of bungalows nestles on the beach just a few minutes walk from the Ark bar and Chaweng’s busy nightlife. Standard bungalows are cleaned daily and spotless. They are equipped with air conditioned, TV, refridgerator, in room safe, bathroom and balcony. The deluxe bungalows I will recommend are a little more expensive but offered a lot more style. All surrounding by tropical garden settings added to the overall beauty of the site. Location : Chaweng Villa Beach Resort is in the core of Chaweng just 10 seconds away from the beach shore. While the outside of the hotel could do with a refurb as it looks slightly run down, the rooms are correct offering air conditioning, TV with English channels, refrigerator and the bathrooms. Location : The Al’s resort has the most amazing location right on the beach but far enough from the busy main road to not be affected by the noise. The rooms are beautiful and spotlessly clean and the staff whilst attentive do not get in the way. I was lucky my room was just 10 paces from the beach, a location that I would highly recommend. Location : If you are looking for the perfect place for party in Samui with almost anything you could want to do in Chaweng at your doorstep, the Ark Bar Beach Resort is for you. The resort bar is possibly the busiest on the beach and has a magnificent vibe. The DJ starts at 2pm with a pool party and the entire location turns into the liveliest beach club going after dawn with the partying continuing late into the night. The rooms are excellent for the price and all offer air conditioning, mini bar, TV with DVD player, in room safe and free WiFi. Just a little tip from the wise, if you plan to sleep before 2 – 3 am then request a room as far away from the beach as possible on arrival! Location : The Chaweng Palace Hotel meets the perfect location, center of all the action Chaweng has to offer. The rooms were new with great furnishing and decoration and kept immaculately clean. Location : The Chaweng resort is on the southern end of Chaweng beach far enough away from the busy central area. The compact private bungalows are lovely, not five star but nice and clean with all you could want including air conditioning, TV, in room safe and so on. Location : The Evergreen Resort is an other resort two minute walk from the beach and two minute walk to the main street with lots of bars and restaurants. Bungalow rooms are modern in decor and impeccably clean, and come with fully functional air conditioning, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and safety box in the wardrobe. Location : The Avenue Samui (Formerly the FX Resort Chaweng Hotel) is a good location within an easy walk of the beach and nightclubs. Plenty things to do here. The rooms was large and comfortable offering big refridgerator, desk area, lot of storage, TV with good selection of English channels, WiFi and lovely balcony. Location : The Montien House Hotel is on Chewang beach in the heart of all the action. The rooms are clean, comfortable, well furnished and come with all the necessary amenities although the entire complex could do with refurbishment as it is looking a little jaded. The swimming pool although not huge is adequate for the size of the resort and good place to relax as there are always free sundbeds available. The only downsides are that the beach is not the best here due to the close proximity of the wave breaker which makes the water a little stagnant at times plus the WiFi would only function properly near the pool or restaurant. Location : The Palm Island Resort has beach frontage and is a relatively quiet spot on the Nothern portion of Chaweng beach, with the town and main night time attractions all with walking distance. The room although basic was very clean and offered exceptional air conditioning, refridgerator, free WiFi and a lovely private balcony overlooking the garden, the perfect place to sit and enjoy the peace. Location : The Pandora Lifestyle Hotel is on the outskirts of the centre near to the northern end of Chaweng approximately 10 – 15 minute walk from the lively area of Green Mango. The beach has direct access through the Chalala resort which is located on the other side of the road. The rooms are incredibly funky with various colour changing mood lights with remote control so you can set to just the way you like. You will also get computer and TV which had access to a large library of movies for your entertainment. Location : The Samui Sans Souci is fabulous resort located beachfront. Nestled in a delightful tropical garden the resort is in a quiet spot near to the southern tip of Chaweng beach ideal place for swimming. The bungalow rooms are clean and spacious and constructed entirely from wood. The rooms are beautifully decorated with dark tone and you will get everything you could need. Location : The Seascape Beach Resort located right on the quieter Southern end of Chaweng beach offers hotel rooms facilities and independent bungalows, all with balconies. The rooms are spacious with very simple furnishings but offer everything you will need, air conditioning, TV, mini bar, hot shower and free WiFi. There is a good quality restaurant that is excellent value for money and although the swimming pool is small the location on Chaweng for swimming in the sea is the best, so this is not a problem. Location : The Island Resort & Spa is just a minute by foot to the beach. There is easy access to the main beach road where all the nightlife can be found. My stay although only for a couple of nights was pleasant, I had a room with sea view and the hotel was generally in good order. The rooms were acceptable, nothing extra ordinary but value. Location : The Chaweng Buri is located front to the beach in the middle of Chaweng Beach and surrounded by rainforest style gardens and the deep blue sea. With Bo Phut Pier 10min away by tuk tuk and Chaweng beach and its night time action, shopping areas, plus several restaurants all within reach, the resort offers private garden villas and sea view villas each fully furnished with essential amenities that you could need. There is a fantastic swimming pool with jacuzzi outside as well as the pool and beach bar, beach front restaurant and so much more. This hotel may be pricey but it is certainly worth every penny. Location : The Chaweng Gardens is located on one of the busiest stretches of sand in Chaweng. Rooms vary from the budget basic huts that overlook the car park and suffer from noise from the town, to deluxe those nearer the beach which providing more privacy and peace and offered all you could want including fully functioning air conditioning, refridgerator, in room safe and balcony. Location : The Al’s Laemson Resort is a 80 bungalow villas set located on a small private beach area approximately 200 meters from the Northern tip of Chaweng Beach and roughly 1 km from the center of Chaweng. Clean and comfortable villa rooms come with all modern amenities. An ideal choice if you are seeking a little privacy. The only diasppointment was that there was no free WiFi offered. Location : The Buri Rasa Village is a fabulous boutique resort found three quarters of the way down the southern part of Chaweng beach and is just 10 – 15 minute walk to the busy nightlife area. Built in authentic Thai design all of the rooms are new and offer excellent facilities. Even the most basic room is decorated to the highest standard and has a big bathroom and private balcony. Whilst their infinity swimming pool is relatively small it is only 10 meters from the ocean. The real plus with this resort is the superb service which I would think is why they are currently rated #1 on TripAdvisor, cannot rate this one highly enough. Location : The Coral Bay Resort & Spa is situated at the end of Chaweng beach and approximately 10 – 15 minutes walk from the main strip. The whole place has a wonderful atmosphere and is tranquil with beautiful grounds and lovely swimming pool. The bungalows are very spacious and of typical Thai style with a enormous 7 foot bed, day lounger, waterfall shower and big balcony. Everywhere is impeccably clean, except maybe the beach located north-end not the best place to swim, but overall this makes a really nice place for a relaxing stay. Location : The Kirikayan Boutique Resort can be found near the southern end of Chaweng on the very best part of the beach. Although a small yet extremely elegant hotel with only 30 rooms it has a super swimming pool with swim-up bar. The rooms are impeccably decorated and well laid out with huge and extremely comfortable beds, highly effective air conditioning, excellent wet room showers and a WiFi connection so good it even works when you are on the beach. Location : The Pawanthorn Samui is a little too far from the center to walk, but only a short 5 – 10 minute walk from North Chaweng Beach which offers a lovely cozy enviroment. The villas are modern and very well designed with everything you could possibly need including your own private pool. A nice place to stay with your motorbike rental. Location : The Samui Resotel Beach Resort is a modern three years old resort can be found at the quieter southern end of Chaweng beach ideal place for swimming. The clubs and discos are about 10 - 15 minute walk so not too far away. Rooms are modern, well equipped and come with all the admenties you can expect. I will specialy advice the Sea view rooms overlooking the main swimming pool and Chaweng sea. The pool villas are even more luxurious with your private swimming pool perfect for your entertainment. Location : The Anantara Lawana Resort & Spa set at the north end of Chaweng on its own secluded private beach, only 10 – 15 min walk downhill to Chaweng town. The resort is constitued of 122 individual bungalows and villas many which have their own private pools. I will hightly recommend spending that little extra 10 – 15% to have a pool villa as being able to jump in your own pool at anytime is a definite benefit and worth a bit more. There is a fabulous Infinity pool situated by the beach for guests which is a lovely addition. The only bad point is that as the resort is spread out on the hill some of the villas require more walking to get to them, but at least it will keep you fit! Guest Friendly Hotels on Lamai Beach
Location : The Rich Resort Beachside Hotel is possibly the least expensive accommodation available in Koh Samui. 15$ for a fan room and 30$ for superior room with air conditioning, all of the rooms offering satellite TV, refridgerator, in room safe, good bathroom with hot water and two bottle of drinking water per day. Located alongside Lamai beach and only 5 minutes walk from Lamai centre, the only downside was no in room WiFi but this is available for free from the bar opposite the hotel. Location : The Bill Resort located few steps to the sea with a restaurant that overlooks the beach offers a range of rooms to suit all budgets. My standard room was large with good functional facilities including big comfortable bed, bathroom and a satellite TV with English channels. Location : The Lamai Chalet is a budget resort located the southern end of Lamai beach in a pretty location near to one of the best strips of sand. The resort offers various types of basic room from fan bungalows room to air conditioned rooms equipped with refridgerator and TV. The restaurant offers good quality thai food and friendly staff. Location : Sitting on the edge of the Lamai beach, the Lamai Inn 99 Bungalows is approximately 5 minutes stroll to the town. The rooms was clean, comfortable with beautiful pool view king size bed, fully functioning air conditioning and bathroom with plenty of hot water. The nearby bar is rather noisy until three in the morning but ok if you are night people. The restaurant serves beautiful Thai food however I would not recommend the western cuisine as this was not really up to standard. The biggest plus here is the beach location with the actual hotel restaurant on the beach Location : The Samui Sense Beach Resort (formerly Samui Seabreeze Place) is located opposite the beach just 2 – 3 minutes walk from Hat Lamai road and its abundance of nightlife. The resort include old style bungalows located beachside and 3 floors high new building located roadside. The rooms in the newer part are spacious, clean with lovely bedding, air conditioning, refridgerator, in room safe, balcony overlooking the pool and free WiFi. No swimming pool but the beach at proximity. Their also have their own restaurant set on the beach where free breakfast is offered. A pretty good deal for a hotel of this calibre. Location : The Lamai Beach Residence is just 200 meters from the beach and within walking distance of Lamai town. Opened in 2007 the apartments are well look after and are equipped with a small kitchenette that has a refrigerator and microwave, living room with corner sofa with TV and free WiFi, good sized bed and bathroom with plenty of hot water. Location : The Samui Beach Resort is ideal for budget travellers. Situated beachfront at the southern end of Lamai beach next to the Grandfather & Grandmother rock, the resort is well maintained with a nice pool and free sunbeds. Location : The Sand Sea Resort & Spa is at The Sand Sea Resort & Spa is at the quiet northern side of Lamai beach which is divided by a small stream that runs close by. The resort is very pretty and secluded with a super swimming pool and great bar and restaurant plus its great proximity to the beach. The superior and deluxe rooms offer a bath instead of shower which is offered in the standard rooms, but if you are not on a budget, I would personnaly recommand the pool villas located right front to the beach with large private swimming pool, jacuzzi and other modern facilities. Location : The Varinda Garden Resort is a luxurious quiet property perched on the hilltop overlooking the sea and amidst stunning tropical gardens and just 5 – 10 minutes walk to Lamai town and beach. There is a super infinity swimming pool, restaurant and bar with plenty of seating areas plus cabanasand hammocks. The bungalows all have balconies with furniture and each is surrounded by well grown shrubbery that ensures each is private and secluded, it really is as if there are no neighbours. The rooms are spacious and fully equipped with large beds, refridgerator, cable TV, in room safe, coffee making facilities and plenty of seating space. There is also a seperate bath and shower. Location : The Montra is small boutique hotel sits on top of a hill about 10 minutes walk from Lamai beach. The hotel offers a selection of private and luxurious villas : extremely large, all offer a seperate living room, king size bed, large bathroom with bath and seperate shower. There is also direct access to the swimming pool through the gardens that surround each villa. A lovely place to stay, feel of home to this resort, this could be why it is probably constantly featured in the Top 10 Koh Samui hotels by Tripadvisor. Location : The Am Samui Palace Hotel is located in the heart of Lamai near bars, market and the beach all within a few minutes walk. The rooms are spacious with large balconies perfect for relaxing. Everything is spotlessly clean and functional with the rooms being well equipped with everything you might need. Location : The Seaview Paradise Beach and Mountain Holiday Villas Resort is a part of two distinctive areas offering either spacious, modern villas set on the beach or apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms set amidst the hilltops with amazing views. The beachfront villas are very well sized being over 75 square meters and the most expensive offer two bedrooms, seperate living room, dining room and large balcony with seating. The hilltop villas offers similar comforts although cheaper with only 30 square meters for one bedroom apartment, they still have fabulous views over Lamai from the balcony and the infinity pool set on the highest level is simply out of this world. Location : The Beach Republic Hotel has a spectacularly beachside setting and is a luxury four star resort, sitting on the northern tip of Lamai beach within easy reach of Chaweng beach; just a mere 5 – 10 minute taxi/motorbike ride away. The rooms are well presented and very clean with some lovely additional extras such as a personal espresso machine and comlimentary iPads for your use during your stay. The high spot of the Beach Republic has to be the outdoor bar and loung area with its beautiful cabanas and beach chairs along with a resident DJ mixing the best in chillout turnes. Location : The Pavilion Samui Boutique Resort is a beachfront property set in the middle on the nicest part of Lamai beach. The resort has 70 different types of accommodation spanning four categories. The Plunge Pool and Deluxe Jacuzzi rooms are in the main building whilse the Pool Villas and Hydro Pool Suites are nestled in the beautfully manicured gardens. The rooms are spotlessly clean with everything you could need. The swimming pool is excellent with a lovely bar area and the food is of the highest quality. Super friendly staff and although not the newest resort in Lamai I still think this is one of the best four to five star offerings in this vacinity. Location : The Rummana Boutique Resort is a set of 40 beachfront bungalows located Southern end of Lamai Beach just 500 meters from Grandfather and Grandmother Rock. The bungalows, all dotted around the beautifully tendered tropical gardens and linked with walkways, are lovely and spacious. A four-stars value with everything you could need and very clean inside. Location : The Samui Jasmine Resort is a well located small beachfront resort set in one of the best parts of Lamai for swimming and very close to the main strip with bars few minutes walk. The rooms that I would compare to four-star hotel are modern with clean fixtures and fittings and a Thai influence in styling. The beds was extremely comfortable, although the TV had very little English speaking channels, with a superb infinity swimming pool that overlooks the sea and set in superb green gardens this is a lovely complex. Location : Le Meridien Koh Samui is a simply amazing five star property set on the northern tip of Lamai beach. There are several modern luxurious suites to choose from. The Pool Access Suite has to be one of the most sort after as the room opens out on to your own private outdoor swimming pool with sundeck and sunbeds.
